Mary I. Tompkins, 75, of 5987 White Wagon Road, Waverly, N.Y., passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at the Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness.

Born March 27, 1927, in Towanda, she was the daughter of Gerald and Virginia WARE POTTER. Mary attended schools in Towanda. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She enjoyed playing cards and games.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Roy HAWKINS, in 1974; her second husband, William TOMPKINS, in 1998; and two brothers, Gerald "Junior" and Charles "Huck" POTTER.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Virginia and Daniel LADUE of Waverly, N.Y.; Jean and James KIRK of Waverly; Roberta and James ESKREW of Lockwood, N.Y.; Roy HAWKINS of Waverly; and Rochelle and Timothy STANTONS of Indianapolis, Ind. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Helen POTTER of Apopka, Fla., Dick and Marion POTTER of Apopka, and James and Lola POTTER of Litchfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Her special friends, Marion and Dot, Beverly and Gayle, and Helen also survive her, as well as the friends she made in the Dialysis Department, Marilyce, Sharon Steves, Judy, Jim and Phyllis.

Family and friends may call Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 S. Main St., Athens.

Funeral services will follow there at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Anne Canfield, pastor of the Waverly United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Dialysis Unit of the Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie Square, Sayre, Pa. 18840.
