Tom WALSH, 62, of 563 Clark St., Waverly, N.Y., passed away Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born March 14, 1942 in Utica, N.Y., he was the son of William J. and Louise O'BRIEN WALSH.
He started his working career in the dish room of O'Brien's Inn, then went to work for Ajax X-ray Foundry, Inc., and completed his career working for Sayre schools for 30 years, retiring n July of 2002. He enjoyed working on electrical projects. Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a former member of the Betowski-VanDeMark American Legion Post No. 492 of Waverly.
He was predeceased by: his parents; his wife, Mary anne, in September 2003; and a sister, Beverly WALSH.
He is survived by: his children, Kathryn and Ray BONNING of Waverly, Marian and shawn BONNING of south Waverly and William T. Walsh II of Waverly; grandchildren, John PERRY, Zakry BONNING, Patrick BONNING, Sarah BONNING, Abigail BONNING, Austin BONNING and Vanessa BONNING; sisters, Jean LEE of south Waverly and Joan WALSH TEETER of Elmira, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 11 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens. A memorial service will follow Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Vincent LaANGAN, pastor of St. John Catholic Church, officiating. Memorial donations may be made in his name to a scholarship fund for his son, William T. WALSH II, at the Guthrie Federal Credit Union, 104 N. Elmer Ave., Sayre, Pa. 18840.
