Harry “Smokey” Scovell, 49, of Main St., Nichols, N.Y. passed away at his home on Monday evening, July 7, 2008.

Smokey enjoyed spending time farming and working on automotives.

He is survived by his daughter Brittine L. Miller and her companion Dale Owen of Athens; grandson Hunter; siblings: Brenda (Cliff Fuller) Scovell; Lois (David) Housen; Donna (Gerry) Short; Larry (Joyce) Scovell; his Aunt and Uncle Vivian and Donald Scovell; sister-in-law, Pat Wendela; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive.

Smokey was predeceased by his parents Arthur M. and Doris (Hills) Scovell, a sister Sherry Chaffee and a brother Keith A. Scovell.

Family and friends gathered for a memorial service on Friday, July 11 at 1 p.m. at the Smithboro Cemetery, Church St., Smithboro, N.Y. with Pastor Gary Smith, officiating.

Caring assistance was provided by the Cooley Family of the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols.

Note: "Smokey" was buried in the Barton Cemetery, he was creamated. Taken from the Morning Times Sayre PA.

Harry is buried in the cemetery on Church Street in Smithboro, NY
