Seeking other researchers who may be connected to the NORTHRUP family with connections to Tioga County, NY.
I'm interested in finding information pertaining to the four children born to Jesse Rosel Northrup and his wife, Maude A. (HART) Northrup but am specifically looking for information or leads pertaining to their two youngest children.
A daughter named Laverna or (Loverna) Northrup found on the 1915 NYS census taken on June 1st for Tioga County. Her first name was spelled as Loreina on census, and was living with a family by the name of Aaron and Ettie JOHNSON & their two children at 30 Temple St. in Village of Owego.
Loverna was noted as being a "lodger", age 4 (b. abt 1911 NYS); in addition, her two older siblings, Alden, age 7 and Ellen, age 6 who were also listed in this household. Their relationship to head of household were also noted as "Lodger".
There was also the youngest child, a son, possibly named Rosel Northrup (birth date unknown though it would have occurred between 1911 and 1915). I've been unable to locate any information about this little boy. Possibly adopted with a change of his name or he could have died as a young infant.
Their mother died sometime after April 1911 and before June 1915. Their father, apparently unable to care for these children after her death, placed these children in either orphanages or homes of friends or relatives. Parents had lived in Tompkins, Tioga and Broome Counties while Maude was alive.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone with any type of lead or positive information about these two young children.
Thanks in advance
