'Looking for descendants of the families below who came here from
Alsace-Loraine, Germany and France.

They settled in the Germany Hill, Tioga County area around 1840-Early
1900's. Members of these families are buried in the Germany Hill United Methodist
Church Cemetery, Perrine Road, Owego, Tioga County, NY.
Many of these monuments are in poor condition and need repair or replacement.
Repairs have been started and will be on-going until completion.
On Sep 21, 2014 a Service of Rededication of the Cemetery will be held
at the church.
Any info including stories, history of their struggles and accomplishments
will be accepted and appreciated.
Please respond if you have info on and/or are one of these descendants
and are interested in having a part in this project.
Monetary gifts will be gratefully accepted and used for the project.

Searching for a SMITH family.
I know my great-great grandfather Henry Smith
was born in 1836 in Tioga County, NY. His father was born in NY (we know
from census records) and I believe his name to be Obediah Smith and he was
born in 1805.
Henry Smith was a civil war vet and it appears he (and his family) moved
to Indiana at some point.
Looking for information on Obediah Smith and his wife.
