Leo Harry Poole, 85, of Halsey Valley, passed away Dec. 30, 2008 at ElderWood Nursing Facility.
Born Feb. 7, 1923 in Barton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Claude Poole and Annabelle Wright Poole. He was the husband of the late Marie (FONTANA) POOLE. Leo was a lifelong resident of the Valley. He was a dairy farmer all of his life. He was a life member of the Endless Mountains Horse Club, lifetime member of the Halsey Valley Grange, and a member of the United Methodist Church of Halsey Valley.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa (Joseph) BEAUCHAMP, Lockwood, N.Y., Vanessa (Charles) WORDEN, Cassville, N.Y., Jacquelyn (Raymond) SHEDDEN, Lake Mary, Fla., Valerie (Gene) TROWBRIDGE, Meshoppen, Pa., Christopher POOLE, Lockwood, N.Y., and Vincent (Joyce) POOLE, Lockwood; 16 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter, K.C. POOLE.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at 12 noon at the Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Ave., Waverly. Pastor Anne CANFIELD will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery in the spring. Those wishing may direct donations in Leos name to the charity of ones choice.
