Nelson Slate of Jenksville

Nelson Slate, for many years one of the most prominent farmers and residents of Jenksville, died at his home there last Friday night.
He had been in poor health for the past two years and suffered a stroke on May 5. He was 71 years of age. He is survived by his widow and one son, Ed., who is at home, also by one brother J. S. Slate, of Hedgesville, N.Y.
Note *Nelson was the son of William and Lydia Olney Slate, born May 16, 1844 and died May 19, 1911.
His wife was Mary Garphene Blanchard.
He had two sons Edgar Darwin Blanchard Slate and Charles Pease Slate.
