Ronald L. Chandler
Ronald L. Chandler, 87, formerly of Waverly, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Ariels Family Type Assisted Living, Candor, N.Y.
Ron was born on May 12, 1921 in Athens, Pa., the son of the late Irvie and Edith BEAN Chandler.
Ron retired from I.B.M., Endicott, N.Y., as a Project Manager. He served his country in the 8th Army U.S. Air Corp. in the Finance Dept., and served 23 months overseas in the European Theater. He was a very active member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, The Lions Club, and the Chemung Valley Waverly Masons Lodge 350.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice ACKLEY CHANDLER; nieces and nephews Joyce and Conrad BUSH of West Falls, N.Y., and John and Diane ACKLEY of West Hemstead, N.Y. Several great neices and nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to celebrate Ronalds life will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Waverly United Methodist with Pastor Anne Bey Canfield officating. The Chemung Valley Waverly Masons Lodge 350 will conduct a memorial service at 1 p.m. Burial will be held in Lockwood Cemetery, Lockwood, N.Y.
